Yes it does! They act like they don't have to keep care of it anymore since I just paid for it. That is when I not so gently point out that I have the same policy that the store does, "IF You Break It, You Buy It." They generally don't like it, but they get the hint and treat my purchases with a bit more care.

On occasion I will get a clerk that feels that they are more important than the customer, and that is when I make sure the store manager gets involved(and ALWAYS ask the store manager for the 1-800-customer quality number that every store has, along with the store number and their name.) That gives them the idea that you are willing to contact someone above them should they not handle the matter in the correct way.

Yes, I believe when your working in customer service, you should always have a smile on your face and love people, because when you dont, it shows, and it makes it uncomfortable to the shopper, who probably won't want to come back to the store!

Yeah, its like "hello, I just paid for that, now can I return it?"
How would they like it if you walked into their house and started throwing their stuff around?
My thing is when they sort of stuff fruit into the bags, obviously over full and still they stuff.
argh!

Yes and it bothers me when they are rude, annoyed and indifferent.
If they're that unhappy with their job they should find something else to do.

After I insist they go get another product to replace the one they mishandled, they usually don't do it again.
