i got my alternator recoiled basically it was reconditioned as it wasnt charging heres the annoying bit i put the alternator back on my tranny and started it up and the battery light was still on gave it a revving stayed on again so i bridged the blue wire on the alternator and touched the + on the battery and then it started charging if i leave the bridge wire on the battery overnight it flattens my battery so i put it on a switch in the cab i start the tranny press the switch it alternates and coz the switch is a dooor bell type switch it releases itself but this is getting annoying does anyone have any idea as to what is happening and how i fix it all the help i can get will be great cheers

Follow the main battery earth lead there is a fuse in the main wire make sure it is okay and your earth point is clean/tight

The blue wire should be attached to the correct terminal on the alternator. It goes to the charging lamp on the dash. It has 12v coming down it from the dash and when the alternator is providing 12v the light will come on.

Take it back, if you got a spare wire you got the wrong alt.

has your tranny got a split charge system ?
