The won't zip up at the top of them. They come close. they are leather boots

Best thing I can think is keep trying.. as much as you can stand to do it, because leather will stretch.
Oh.. or you could try stuffing them with a rolled sweater or something.. keep packing more in every day.
Likely someone else will have a better answer but best I could think.
Don't give up on them I know leather will stretch.
