How many working hours (40 hrs/week) since Nov. 1, 1989 until Oct. 28, 2006?

My co-worker is retiring and I'm trying to figure out how long he's sat in a cubicle! He's just coming up on 17 years.
Things to exclude:
5 Holidays / yr.
13 days vacation off first 5 years, 18 days years 5 through 14, and 23 days off years 15 through 17. Plus an average of 5 sick days per year.

I show Nov. 1, 1989 as a Wednesday and Oct. 28, 2006 as a Saturday. I assume you meant through Oct. 27, 2006 (Friday). Just in raw days, that is 6,205 days.

In weeks that is 886 weeks and 3 days. But we only want to count 5 days per week, so that is 4433 days (886 * 5 + 3).

In addition you need to remove
5 holidays for 17 years
13 vacation days for 4 years (years 1-4)
18 vacation days for 10 years (years 5-14)
23 vacation days for 3 years (years 15-17)
5 sick days for 17 years.
That's 471 days to remove, which gets you down to:
3962 days.

3962 days = 31,696 hours = 1,901,760 minutes = 114,105,600 seconds

I'd present it that way (114 million 105 thousand 600 seconds) not including bathroom and coffee breaks. :-)
