If a spirit is energy, and the earth has gravity--a form of magnitism--much like the iron particles on a cassette tape, and the energy of sound being recorded to the cassette. Why can't a spiritual apparition be a recorded visual that plays itself over and over again? A residual haunting is a reoccuring haunting that happens the same way all the time. It's just a thought. What say you?

Because there's a constant state of static. Recurring hauntings happen for a reason and that spirit knows it, you may have tapped into something that is a false negative. Does that make sense to you? If you really want to dig further, study the 8th key of Coptic letters in the western mysteries- it's fascinating and will answer your question better than I ever could! Great question, how come we don't get more of these that challenge our minds???!!! Thanks for reading.

that seems plausible, that may be what occurs. Maybe the people who see ghosts are acting as the "tape heads" that pick up the energy and make it visible

That is one theory that many people believe.

Since ghosts cannot be proved to exist we will not know for sure until we pass to the other side ourselves.
