Can I view the newspaper archives from the 1970s?

I am looking to view the san francisco chonicle sports pages from 1973 to 1973 to find a boxer named Danny Hall

yes; they are stored as microfilm in libraries (usually). Just ask the librarian for help and she'll help u find the microfilm and teach u how to use the microfilm reader.

Usually yes, but you have to pay to go back that far.
