Can someone please explain to me how to do the following problem please?
The heat of combustion of C8H18 is 47.8 kJ/g and one gallon of C8H18 has a mass of 2620g. If a car using C8H18 is driven 10,000miles in one year and gets 25mpg of C8H18, what is the total energy consumption?

This is an algebra problem.

divide the total miles by the miles per gallon to get the total fuel consumption. Multiply the number of gallons by the mass per gallon, etc.
