the play 'julius caesar', is this what really happened, or close to it? if you have read it, who stabs caesar first and last?

Skip to the end of the play, the last act. Last line Ceaser Speaks "Et tu Brutus?"

As for did this really happen. Yes. Shakespear based his play on history. Don't know if Ceaser actually said "Et tu Brutus" at the end but Brutus was the one that killed him.
Basically Brutus was Ceaser's body guard. No one could get close to Ceaser unless they went thru Brutus. The men in Ceaser's and Brutus's circle were upset at the way Ceaser was handling things and felt they were being treated unfairly. They were able to convice Brutus to join them in their quest to over throw Ceaser.
Since no one could get to Ceaser except Brutus, it was up to Brutus to kill Ceaser.

It is pretty accurate. But not exactly. Brutus stabs Julies. Hence the famous line "Et tu Brute?" as in "You too Brutus"?
