Why do people ask questions on this site and then leave the question's as open and not check their answers?

I have no idea why some do that. I usually check the answers often to my questions.

They probably read the answer, just didn't bother to pick a "best" answer.

Dunno, but I get a lot of "best answers" by being the only respondent to vote for one...mine!
