try connecting through a usb hub only put the end that normally goes into pc in to external hard disk you will need the right cable not sure which end is which on usb cable A or B end. and then run a cable to each pc from the hub.

Using the USB connection, only to 1 computer at a time.
But once it is connected to a computer, if you have a network and share the drive, it can be accessed from the other computer as well.

What you can try, but I have not tried this, is to connect the drive through a USB hub.

absolutely, if you already have a network, then all u have to do is right click on the usb drive and click sharing, that is if your in XP. Vista, is somewhat similar. Good Luck :0)

otherwise there is no physical way that i know of to connect a drive to 2 computers.

they DO make external network storage devices just for this..

(No, i dont work for tiger direct, they're just easy to navigate, u might find cheaper elsewhare.)
although, your cheapest alternative is to just create a share on one of your existing PCs.
