Portable dishwashers used to be fairly common some 30-40 years ago. Home dishwashers were a fairly new item and most people in existing homes weren't willing to go to the expense of having them built in. Therefore the advent of the portable dishwasher. They have become a fairly rare item these days since most new homes built in the last 40+ years have built in dishwashers, and many older homes have had their kitchens remodeled to include a built in model.
To use a protable dishwasher, the water supply line is usually hooked up to the threaded end of the kitchen sink faucet. The discharge hose is usually run down the kitchen sink. The unit is plugged in for use, and when done, disconnected and rolled away. There are many drawbacks to this system. You cannot use your kitchen faucet or sink while the dishwasher is running. It was not uncommon for the duscharge hose to slip out of the sink drain and discharge the waste water all over the kitchen floor. The units were noisey and tended to vibrate and shake.
The best portable dishwasher I ever found was a couple of children that needed to earn their allowances.
Good luck with your dishwasher.

If you look on the back you should find an electrical cord and a hose. Plug the cord into the wall and hook the hose up to your faucet. Make sure it is on tight (you may need to buy an adapter for it to fit properly, any appliance store will carry this) turn on the cold tap - do this slowly, if the hose it not attached tightly it will pop off and spray water all over the place. Once the water is on, start the dishwasher.

There is an adapter that you install on your kitchen faucet that you hook the hose from the portable unit up to and it provides hot water to the dishwasher and holds the hose for the drain line in the hose set.
You hook up the water/ drain and plug the power cord into the wall and load up the dishwasher with dirty dishes and fill the detergent cup with detergent and turn it on. When it completes the cycle, you disconnect the hoses and cord and unload the unit ready for another time.
