First, you don't need a tv tuner because it's videos you want transfered. You'll need a 'Video Converter' (25-100bucks) and you'll need a cable with the red & white rca connectors on one end and the 'small' headphone size one on the other end. Plug the small end into your LINE-IN jack on your sound card. Now, just hook your VCR up to the VIDEO CONVERTER, using red, white & yellow rca plugs. That's it! Have fun! :-)

You need to purchase a TV tuner. There are three options for TV tuner cards:
*PCI - Internal card if you have a desktop computer
*PCMIA - If you have a laptop
*USB - For either laptop or desktop

Then you can plug in your VCR via the coaxial cable connection on your TV tuner and record from your VHS tapes onto your computer.

To make it easier, after you get a TV tuner card you can just plug your antenna or cable connection straight into your computer and record directly onto your hard drive rather than recording onto a VHS and then transferring it onto your computer.

You can purchase TV Tuner hardware online pretty much anywhere.
