I tried turning the key again, but it made a ugly kinda sound...
Like finger nails on a chalk bord, why? how do i turn it off, hurry.

But despite that ugly sound, it does stop the engine, right?
Have you tried, opening the hood and disconnecting the battery? Of course you'd have to reconnect it, and turn the key, to restart the car. You really should get the car serviced at a reptuable auto shop.

I would say put the car in park, and then turn the key back towards you.

sounds like you need a new steering colom i would keep trying to turn the key if not take the cable off the battery
