The Student/Teacher edition of MS Office is about $200 or less.

You can also get OpenOffice. It is free and you can make word docs/powerpoints/spreadsheets..etc and save them as MS Office docs.

Download OpenOffice. That has a PPT knockoff that should work well. It's free too (legally free).
