The versions of Windows that doesn't support plug and play (PnP) are versions 1.0,2.0,3.0,3.1,3.11 for workgroups,95 versions A and B. I believe version C supported PnP but I am not for certain. 98 and up have full on board PnP support.

XP is the only one that supports plug and play I think.
