a mix of gender, environment, and biologically speaking, the XX chromosome.

I don't believe a woman is defined simply by what is between her legs. I believe the term "woman" is a subjective term that has been defined by society and cultural norms for what gender roles should entail. If a genetic woman were to have her reproductive organs removed and also a double mascectomy done, would she cease being a "woman"? No, because I believe gender is between the ears and sex is between the legs. I think this is the problem with so many people in truly understanding transsexuals for example. The common person doesn't understand the difference between SEX and GENDER. I believe a lot of what makes "woman" and "man" is defined by cultural norms and roles. Somewhere along the line, we've seemed to think that a "woman" has certain roles and a "man" has certain roles. But, I don't think there's truly boundaries on this, because these roles overlap many times. Women have masculine attributes as well as men have feminine attributes. We, as a society, have put those feminine and masculine attributes into rigid categories, and that's where the problem lies. If a man exhibits anything we have labeled "feminine" then he is outside the norm, and we attach stereotypes to him, whereas if a woman displays that which is considered "masculine" again, we attach stereotypes to her. So..apart from the chromosomes, I really don't think "woman" or "man" can be clearly defined. Have a nice day. :)
