If you're willing to share what happened and what steps you had to go through in order to rectify the situation, I would appreciate it. I'm working on a school article, and I need some info to fill out the details.
Even if you just know a Web site or message board where I could contact people who have had to deal with this, that would be great.
(If you could leave your first name and the city/state/country you're from too, that would be helpful, but not necessary at all!)

At the end of May I opened an offer for 2 free dinners at Chili's. Then, when they requested I agree to receive advertisement from other companies listed I got right out of the email without providing and further choices or info. Right after that I noticed a bill for "True.com a dating service and Prescriptions which I never knew what it was for" on my credit card bill. Since I am 67 yrs. and living happily, I definitely did not need a dating service. I called the c.c.security office and stopped the cc immediately and was issued a new one. The cc security division were given the addresses and phone numbers on the cc and the companies were placed under investigation for fraud. The True charges are now under dispute but we found out the Prescription bill was generated in Luxembourg. The "True" charges have been approx. $60+ per month since May (5 mo). The "Prescription" charges were approx $70+ per month for June & july. I have gone into True now 4 times to unsubscribe but the charges (as of last week) go on. The money for RX was returned to me. Will try again tomorow to call the cc security office and see where I stand.

Actually, I can almost smell them when they post. They are kinda like the guy selling the VCR on the corner that has a brick & newspaper in it.
Soon, you too will be able to smell & avoid.
Experience is the BEST teacher.

No, and I am sorry but, in this day and age anyone that falls for them anymore deserves everything that happens to them.
