Recently, my neighbor has put on a long piece of wood on our fence, but that wood is full of nails. I asked him why he added that on our fence, he said he wanted to stop the squirrels eating his plants. But I really don't agree with him as the squirrels are running from here and there all the time. I don't understand why he does that. I feel uncomfortable about his behavior. I don't know what i can do with that.

It's the fence we share

Why don't you just take a hammer and pound the nails back onto his side and pull the ones out that you can on your side. You're neighbors and feuds have started over small issues like this.

This guy sounds like a nut-cake. I learned long ago that you're wasting your time trying to argue with crazy people. They always think they're right. If he tampered with your side, you can call the police, and they would likely have a talk with him to get him to cease and desist, and to restore the fence that is your side. If he does not, then you can charge him with vandalism and property damage. Get a lawyer, and also sue the idiot for legal fees. This is how you deal with morons who try to mess with other people's rights. If it is only on his side, then he is allowed to do that, no matter how stupid it is. Either way, I'd get a bright security light if it's not already in existence. If he does this in front of you, what does he do when you're not there? Sounds like one of my idiot neighbours: the one who shoved a big broken piece of glass into my wood fence from her side, so that I almost cut up my hand when I was weeding. I worked a tool through the crack, and flipped it back into her yard, and told myself that I would call the police if she tried it again. I consulted a lawyer on that one, and he said that this would be a valid police call. She put the glass out on garbage day. The only way to handle idiots is not to take their crap. So don't allow it if it's your property. If it's totally on the idiot's side, let him make an *** of himself and show the world, too. YOU'RE obviously the normal one. Good luck.

Unfortunately, it is his fence on his property. He can put whatever side out he wants. The only issue would be whether he is allowed to put the fence up at all. There might be permits he was required to get before he did that (doubtful, but worth a try). Also, if you belong to a home owner's association, they may have rules regarding design.

Is it your fence? If so just remove the wood and get rid of it. Tell psycho-neighbor to buy some thing to keep squirrels away.

First, get a weighted yellow rag and a police whistle. Then ask him again why he did it. If he gives you the tired excuse of the squirrels, blow the whistle, throw the flag, and holler "Intentional bull s h i t ! 15 yard penalty and loss of down!" (This is not to be confused with incidental bull s h i t which only constitutes a 5 yard penalty with no loss of down.)

Right then I would go work on that fence with a sledge hammer and a crowbar. And don't forget to have a wild eyed look and lots of slobbering with gutteral grunts.

If it's your fence you can take it down. If it's his fence to bad. By the way, a piece of wood doesn't stop squirrels.

If you belong to a Homeowner's Association (HOA), contact them - that is probably against the Covenants.

If you're the one who put the fence up and paid for it, you should have the right to pull it down. Is the fence on your property, or on his?

You may also want to check with your local police department and see if it's a code violation within your town.

wood and rusty nails are not safe at all...im sure theres a code violation there....

Try something else and have him take it off.

if the animals are eating his plants it does not give him the right to put nails on your fence...IMO
