I've found that even if I don't know the song, and the person is a good singer, I can pretty much enjoy it. I don't think it's about the song as much as it is about the person singing it :-) I guess if I had to pick a song I liked hearing it would be Bon Jovi - "It's My Life" or even "Wanted Dead or Alive."

The Sound of Silence! (usually the singer thinks they are better than they are, but in the rare case of a good singer, then I like to hear them sing a song they really care about and can put good feeling into. It doesn't matter much what it is!)

anything that will really get the toe tapping.

Slow songs are a snooze when listening to karaoke, if I wanted to be brought down I'd have stayed home flipping thru the channels.

If I Only Knew, by Tom Jones. Trust me: you need to be a vocal acrobat to tackle anything by the Welsh Wonder, but this one is tough. Sounds great if the singer gets it right, though.

"The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band. I'm very impressed when anyone can sing that fast especially when they're drunk.

Bright Eyes, it may sound easy, but you got to sing it with feelings and meant it from your heart, same goes to Goodbye my Lover by J. Blunt.
