When I see these protestors against the Iraq war I wonder if they really know what's going on? With the war on terror we've liberated 50 million people in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Iraqi people have had three free elections, they have done in their country in nine months what it took our country seven years to do during its'founding and that is to have a constituition written by duly elected representatives and voted on by the people and formed a democratically elected government.

NO,,, Like most protesters they are likely not educated only noisy.

I do think they did not expect ti to go the way it has.. lasting this long etc... but the power of the insurgency was underestimated.

In the end Iraq will be better for it.

It will take time is all. We sponsor several troops over there and so we get to hear whats REALLY going on...
Not quite the same as what the news tosses out there usually.

So.. no I dont think most of them are educated tot he facts, only the ones that support thier views.

Good Luck

I knew a protester who visited Iraq on two occasions and then decided that it was so bad that (I think) he forfeited his US citizenship and moved to Germany.

Funny thing though, he did this before the second invasion and based on the effects of the sanctions and use of depleted Uranium. He visited many sites where tanks had been destroyed by DU rounds in the first Gulf War to collect samples.

Yes, and now we are done. Even Bush said we had accomplished our goals. Time to get on the bus out of Baghdad and get our children home for Christmas!!

Iraq was not a threat to USA. War on terrorism should be fought in Afghanistan where the terrorists were living. Now, they're in Iraq killing our soldiers everyday. Terrorism expanded with our aggression into Iraq. We got Bushwhacked!

Of course not! Nor do they want to. That would let facts get in the way of their ideology.

I believe not because all they really want is for our troops to come home, but at the same time they do not realize our troops are doing there job but in a different country.

From your question, I'd say they know more than you do.

When you balance the talking points that you mention against all the dead Iraqis, destroyed infrastructure, people afraid to leave their homes, kidnappings, 3000 murders a month, poverty, no healthcare, no schools, anti-Americanism, weakened military capabilities, diminished global standing, record deficit, and on and on and on, the scales tip in the wrong direction. Step away from the kool aid.

What you said does not support their agenda. They don't care what has been done there, all they care about is trying to win an election. Something they haven't done in quite some time.
