It would sure save a lot of time and money wouldn't it?

We could have instant laws like...outlawing all alcohol, cigarettes, sex. We could make prayer mandatory in schools and in all places of business, all women must wear dresses and all men must wear neck ties, profanity is punishable by fine like littering... and church attendance is mandatory in this perfect Religious Right world. The hell we could live in if everyone were perfect and religious men had absolute control over all things!

We could have a society just like the stepford wives thing...just kill all the people and make everyone a perfect robot.

Hitler tried that once...didn't work though. Osama Bin Ladin is trying it now and I don't think that is going so well either. Why not give some Religious Right-Wing American president a shot at ruining the world? Give the devil enough rope and he'll hang himself everytime.

Good idea (fasicious). Don't give them any resistance at all and they'll wipe themselves off the map! :)

That is the goal of many Americans. Conservatives and the religious right want to destroy the real America and replace it with a Theocratic government based on the evil morality of their rape-torture-kill Christian God (or, as John Adams said, they want to, “"whip and crop, and pillory and roast.")

America was founded as a secular democratic republic. By unanimous approval of the 1797 U.S. Congress:

“As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion”

http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/diplomacy/barbary/bar1796t.htm

This is hardly the first time Christians have tried to undermine the government and overthrow the country. In 1864, 1874, 1896 and 1911, they tried to pass amendments that would rewrite the Constitution to include references to God. Furthermore, there has never been a time in the history of Christianity when it had political power and did not use it for evil purposes.

And today’s Christian terrorists wish America harm as well. On 9/11 both Falwell And Robertson said that God had brought down the trade towers and killed 3,000 because he was angry with America and that we deserved it because we had brought it on ourselves. Of course, on 9/12 they began denying it when it became clear that most Americans were not in the mood for that kind of talk.

We will never know if Adams was right when he wrote,” This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!”, because we likely we never find out.
But we do know that if the Christian religious-right gains control of America, then only terrorists will control the world. How can deal with Islamic terrorists abroad when we have Christian terrorist traitors at home?.

No they would pick Pat Robertson, GOD talks to him all the time. Better yet, lets just skip the elections and let the Conservative bias Supreme Court pick the President like they did last time. Did you know Kerry won Ohio?

As opposed to the athiest left naming the POTUS?

Let's see... there was a form of government where the Left had control, which mandated athiesm... As I recall, it was supposed to be a worker's paradise, free from superstitions contained in religion.

Say, wasn't that the form of government that killed 100 million people in the space of 75 years?

Get rid of all religions and lets worship "God" of the world. There is
only one for all men. I do not beleive in the Pope, Muhammed, Budda, Bill Graham, Jimmy Swaggert, Geroge Bush or the Devil.
Get rid of all evil and cast them in the sea.

The paranoia of decent people who believe in God is stunning. You might want to seriously start thinking about that rubber room.

No. We should skip the ceremony and let the Supreme Court name the U.S. President. Nothing sucks eggs like success.

No! of course not thats why we have a democracy & if the "religious" right are the majority then we still have to vote so the minority still has a voice...a feeble one...but still a voice. (Ruth you got my vote for best answer!)
