Ronald Reagan gave missiles to Iran (our sworn enemy) that they could use against our ally (Saddam Hussein's Iraq) in exchange for millions of dollars and the release of hostages in Lebanon. The millions of dollars went to the Contras in Nicaragua (which was illegal) in the form of guns, ammuntion and other supplies. The guns were flown in CIA leased airplanes and the DEA and other law enforcement agencies were told to look the other way when those planes came back into the states carrying drugs.
