I think if there's visible damage to the tooth, he'd assume pain; if not, then I don't think there's any way he can tell how you feel (unless you tell him).

I would hope so! If you have a tooth that is hurting it is probably starting to decay or something and there would be swelling or a spot that is going bad! I am pretty sure that they would look for those tell tale signs.

I know they can see decay but how can they see pain? I guess they'd take an xray to look for signs for the source of pain. If you're faking it, I guess he'd know. Sensitive teeth can hurt but look ok though.

Yep, If I am right, there are certain teeths are simply pain even if it is just a lil crack, one of them is our Wisdom Teeth (The one deep in the cheek) coz my sis experienced it once.

He has a little tool, when he taps your teeth, he will know which one hurts, by your actions.
