I prefer to listen to really dark and depressing music when I want to be cheered up. It works for some reason. If i try to listen to happy bubblegum, it'll just make me angry. Have you ever been kind of bummed out, and someone came up to you all happy and smiley and telling you to just look on the brightside? Don't you just want to hit them? If i am already depressed, i'll listen to some music from the impressionist era, or maybe some old Smiths. It takes you just that much farther down, and then, it's ok. You get through it.

I want to listen to The Eagles, like "Take It Easy," or The Doors, "Hello, I Love You" when I'm down (almost sounds like a line from "People Are Strange" by The Doors: " . . . streets are uneven when you're down . . .")

This is so bubble gum and if you could see my face I wouldn't tell you but Just Can't Get Enough by Depeche Mode always leaves me quite giddy.
