I like spending Christmas with family members and friends I don't see or talk to often, due to them being busy working and/or living long distances that I can't get to. Christmas is one holiday that brings these family members and friends around me more and I appreciate the time we're allowed very much.

I spend 360 days per year making everyone else happy. My friends, relatives, son, husband, and dog see plenty of me, and I see plenty of them. I want some ME days! So, on Christmas, we have a tradition (a new tradition about me, that I started). We get up very, very early, drink hot chocolate and open our presents. (We get one a piece: "the one thing that would make me smile on Christmas morning" present. . We say our I love yous, eat scrambled eggs and ham, and, THEN, I get to curl up (ALONE) in my penguin footy-jammies and watch Musicals and Christmas movies all day--uninterrupted! I hibernate in this manner for 5 days, and reappear, dressed and ready to party on New Year's Eve.

I cannot think of anyone else I would rather be with during Christmas, than myself. It may sound conceited, but it isn't, not really. Think about it: most people place all these ridiculous expectations on the way things are supposed to be during the holidays. They expect others to conform to their ideals, and they become horribly disappointed when things do not go as planned. I don't make plans that include others. I cannot be disappointed, nor can i disappoint someone else. I can, however, rest, relax, and be the most charming guest at the party on New Year's Eve. While others have been stressing over Christmas gifts and relatives, I have been taking long steamy baths, laying around in soft, warm, cozy nighties, and letting the cares of the world fade away.

I will hang with everyone on the first.

I always like to spend it with family. One year I would like to go to Maine where my relatives live and see snow again. I also have two new grandsons both a year old, so now it will be more fun to see them try to open gifts and watch their eyes light up.

I spend Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family, and Christmas Day with my mom's side.

Once I get married, I'm sure that will change....
