When a guy's sex drive declines because of age, does it happen gradually or all at once? How does it manifest?

It all depends on you, some Drives are stronger some are less and as you get older you find Life's pressures will create a decline. Your to tired or stressed, some thing kills the mood.

Just try to set time aside for special times. I found that as I get older just to hold and feel wanted is rewarding. Sex is as good just may not be as often. when I was in my early years 3 to 4 time a week was good 35 to 48 twice a week was good 48,,to,, 55 slowed to about once a week maybe twice a week. Depending on how aggressive the lady is, and I'm sure in another 10 years it will slow to may twice a month.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. you will find quantity of sex isn't as important as quality time spent with your loved one when you reach each level in your life you will set your own guidelines on how often, It doesn't just fall off because you are a year older. it falls off because you desire it less or it becomes less important to you and you have total control. with the Meds today (Viagra) etc, you can maintain an erection, some times if I'm tired I need alittle help I cut a Pill in half and I'm good for the weekend,

I enjoy my sex life more now at 55 than when I was 20's and 30's I understand it and take the extra time it deserves.

A man's peak sex drive is about 17.... and gradually diminishes over time. When you look at humans from birth till death and everything being "ideal" ...... you get attracted when you are young, fall in love, get married, and have your family - and then things even out for a while while you raise your children. Love deepens and the relationship 'changes' so sex is no longer the driving force - it all works out in the end - not to say that sex stops - it just isn't as 'driving' as it was when you were young.

I'm a young woman who's dated much, much older guys. I have yet to notice any decrease in sex drive due to age. ;-) On the other hand, women's sex drives are known to decrease with age. That's why the old farts ended up falling for me. Keep yourself healthy overall... and as they say "use it or lose it". If it disappears suddenly, check with a doctor.

Gradually.

If it disappears suddenly, it is most likely due to depression, which is treatable. For most men as they age, they just go for longer periods without having (or wanting to have) sex. They can generally rise to the occasion any time the opportunity presents itself, they just aren't looking for it all the time.

The very use of the word "decline" indicates that it doesn't happen all at once.
