Today's culture is heavy into violence and cruelty and horror in their entertainment. The gorier the better. It is a dog eat dog world and the youth have been desensitized. Compassion,empathy, and kindness are oftne mistaken for weakness so they either standby idly when cruelty occurs or they take pleasure in it. It is a sad commentary on our times.

I think it is wrong to hurt anyone who is at your mercy. However, I think human beings have an atavistic aversion for what is considered sub-normal.
