I had the same problem...I don't know the "right" course of action but I can tell ya what I did. I went to the teacher several times, then to the principal again, several times...I say several because it continued through the school year even as I got involved. And although everyone spoke of no tolerance for bullying they continued to drop the ball. Unfortunately for the other parent, I spotted them dropping off their kid & had my own little mini conference. (I don't recommend the mini conference) Although it could have and almost ended very badly for all involved, the next day the boy aplogized to my son & I now do my best to let my son handle stuff like that on his own. A few years later I realized that boys & men do this thing amongst themselves where they exchange whitty insults & comebacks in humor & it from time to time can diffuse a situation like that... (that whole "yo momma" thing) maybe learning some of that can help?
Good Luck!

This probably won't help but some kids are destined to be picked on. If you tell him to stand up for himself and he lacks the courage or personality then he won't be able to pull it off. If he does, then he will get in trouble along with the bully. This is a problem inherent in public schools and it is one of the reasons we homeschool. It is also one of the reasons my children take martial arts.

When my son was little, he had a bully pick on him too. I found out the child's phone number and called his parents. You can press assault charges on your child's behalf and have the young bully transported to the nearest police station, if the parents are not able to deal with their child. I called and checked my facts with our local sheriff.

Go to the principal and set up a conference with him & the teacher & other parent. Nip in the bud now. If that doesn't work, then go to superintendent then school board. Good luck!

As a male, I recommend getting the authorites involved. Press charges of assault. You get attorneys for free while the defense will have to pay. If that doesn't get him to stop then throw the little criminal in jail.

Give that boy some courage, let him solve the problem, if it ain't going so well, the principal is the key.
