does anyone know the orgin of the following sir name.

Lam Quang Vinh?

My guess is it is Vietnamese too, and yes the first part of the name is used in the states as the last name.

I gave you the information, It is an ex's sir name.

He shorten to Lam, but it is as I typed it.

Looks Vietnamese to me. Could be Cambodian, though.

You should have provided more details around this name. It is a full name in Vietnamese and the correct spelling is : Lâm Quang Vinh.
Lâm : Surname
Quang : Middle name
Vinh: First name

I suspect it is the name of some Vietnamese pop singer, but I'm not sure as I'm not interested in them.

It looks Vietnamese to me, although the first two names could be Chinese. Only one of these names is the surname. In Asia it is usually the first.

It does look like its from the area of Vietnam,Laos or Cambodia.
