The perimeter of any shape is the distance AROUND the shape. In this case ADD all the sides together. (Add the two widths and two lengths together.)

Length times width is the AREA INside the rectangle.

good luck!

Add the lengths of all the sides together. Perimeter is the distance around the outside of the shape .

Length times width will give you the area on the INside of the shape.

How Do You Find Perimeter

2016-10-06 00:52:56 · answer #4 · answered by decenzo 4 · 0 0

There are four sides. 2 sides of equal length x 2 sides of an opposite equal length = equals the sum of the whole rectangle (4 sides)

2 short lengths x 2 long lengths = the whole of 4 sides.

Hope you get it!

You have to add up all the sides of the rectangle. I would add up the width first, then add up the length of the rectangle.
