First of all, 6:15 is a REALLY fast mile. And if you haven't been running a mile for a while, you're probably not going to reach that time. Second, to be able to reach that time of 6:15 you have to condition yourself, which takes time and patience.

So just run this mile and see what you get, and if you really want to aim for a time of 6:15, start running often to build your endurance...

Do you have a plan to run it? I used to run the mile (4:40 two). It took me a protracted time to confirm that there became a gimmic to working it.First lap is a sprint as complicated as ya can flow, then taper off basically slightly and 3-D lap is with reference to the comparable as 2d. final lap is all out sprint returned. Your first lap time would be what you are able to generally run the a million/4 in as quickly as achievable. Your 0.5 mile time will generally be approximately what you will run --doubled. you may enhance your stamina and heart value--as nicely as your legs so as that they gained't get vulnerable on ya. while you're severe with reference to the mile , ya could be working everywhere ya flow. I had a automobile and nevertheless ran to college and ran abode after practices. I lived in a city of 10,000. and college became on the different area of city. I generally did no longer consume something that day till i became achieved working. sturdy good fortune!!

"jog" the first 1/4, (it may seem dumb, but it works, trust me)
"run" the next 1/2
Do a slightly faster run for the next 1/8
Sprint the last 1/8

I do this whenever I have to run, and it gets me around 6:10 ish... But maybe I'm not as naturally fast as you...
