thanks for the education, meteorites or pieces of are "falling stars" that fall to earth...

Yes many times. Mostly when I am riding at night. There aren't many street lights and I see one about every other month and I always make a wish.

Stars do not fall, they explode, implode and become black holes. Meteorites are pieces of astoroids that have collided in space. The pieces are the flung out into space and our gravitational feild pulls them into earths atmosphere. That is still not a falling star, a star is made up of hot gasses not rock.

Yes... many. A few years ago we got up in the middle of the night and sat in my moms back yard to watch a meteor shower. It was so cool, nice memory too thanks :)
