WASHINGTON Oct 23, 2006
The president insisted the United States would not withdraw from Iraq "until we get the job done."

He also said in an interview with the CNBC television network that changes in troop levels were "up to his generals."

The Iraqis have taken control of two southern provinces but have been slow to take the lead in others, particularly those around Baghdad and in the volatile regions north and west of the capital city. Rumsfeld said specific target dates probably will not be set. Instead, he said there might be a broader time frame — such as a one- to three-month window — for the Iraqis to take control of certain provinces..
"WE will Not Cut and Run"
"WE will Stand Down When the Iraqis Stand Up."
"We will defeat the terrorists."

Right. Tired rhetoric. Meaningless words. In the interim, the US is losing troops day in and day out. I would suggest that the US has NO idea of how they are going to get out of this mess THEY created
Next 'script' please...

hummm

Never heard of a dead US troop coming back from the dead to inform everyone that he was GLAD to have died a hero.
Not interested in past service, only because regardless of how or when you served, you came HOME ALIVE.
I am concerned with those who have died.

This claim that it's "up to the generals" is brand new. The generals have been calling for more troops the whole time. I guess Bush has some bobbleheads in there now.

The tired rhetoric is coming from the liberal democrat detractors.

I know you think that democrats have the only brains in this country, so I won't bother to try to change your mind.

Americans really need our back bones now, more than ever. A united America, against our enemies, would be ideal, but at least some show of strength is imperative.

I DO NOT usually answer questions from jerks that are just rubbish rehashed but I will just this one time. You talk about the number of troops we have lost.Yes the number is great but we lost 1,000 men in one day during D- Day. My company in Viet Nam ( 1st. Infantry 3rd Army )lost 640 men in one month. Death is a part of war, the durty part. I would rather fight the terrious in Iraq then New York City. You are probaly one of those people who would see the enemy & rush to shake their hand & ask what do you want to leave me alone.I will die before I surrender to anyone.
