In the movie "Walk the Line", Joaquin Phoenix(as Johnny Cash)sings a song in the Folsom Prison performance scene that contains the lyrics, "When I was arrested, I was dressed in black..." and "You're the dirty dog who shot his woman down...". What song is this and what album was it off of because I can't seem to find it on "At Folsom Prison", the live recording made there...am I just missing something? Is this an actual song that can be found elsewhere than the movie soundtrack? Thank you in advance for answering.

Cocaine Blues" is a song written by TJ Arnall, although it is in fact a reworking of the traditional song "Little Sadie". Johnny Cash made the song famous.

The song is the tale of a man who shoots his wife to death while under the influence of whisky and cocaine.

Cash famously performed the song at his Folsom Prison concert, an event also portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix in the Cash biographical film Walk The Line. The film version, edited down to make it shorter, fades into the next scene before the line "I can't forget the day I shot that bad ***** down" is sung. The DVD specials include an extended version of the song with the bitter lyric, and the full, unedited version (apparently a different "take") is found on the soundtrack CD.
