9 19 29 39 49 59 69 79 89 90 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99. Um, 20 if you do it that way. If you just mean "9" & this is a trick question, then just once! Oh yeah, I don't even wanna talk about it if you want to turn the paper upside down & count the "9s" LOL.

Actually the answer is 19 times. Unless this is a trick or treat question. In which the answer would be, 1. Or 0, because there is no 9 in 1 to 100.

9, 19, 29, 39, 49, 59, 69 79, 89, 90,91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99 there is 19, 9 in the # 1-100, but if u count 99 as 2 nines then it will be 20 nines.
