I'm not a doctor, so please don't take this as medical advice. You don't indicate what you're hoping for in terms of a pregnancy result, but I can tell you from personal experience that if you were pregnant with a viable pregnancy, that you would easily be detecting HCG with an HPT by now. There are a few possibilities - you could be miscarring, and HPT's may not be detecting levels due to them being so low, or you may have another problem that is causing the spotting. Remember that stress can make spotting worse, as well as delay your period. Try to relax between now and your appointment. If the cramps are bad, a low temp heating pad may help. If you should start to bleed heavily, or the cramps get bad and are accompanied by low back pain and fever, go to the ER.

Your best bet would be to go to the nearest Urgent Care or Emergency room. Tell them you have reason to believe that you are pregnant and you are having cramping and spotting. They will probably do a urinalysis pregnancy test. They *should* perform a sonogram. A sonogram is much more sensitive than an Ultrasound. Sonograms use mechanisms that are inserted in your vagina to get the best possible view of your uterus and ovaries. Now, you say that the blood was brown. My medical opinion though not accelerated, it is still reliable says that you are having what is called implantation bleeding. Some MILD cramping is common with this brownish discharge. It is caused by the fertilized egg attaching itself to the lining of your uterus. However, if you start having Menstrual like cramps with bright red blood, you should go to the Emergency room right away if you suspect that you are pregnant. I have had 3 miscarriages and 2 children. Believe me, if you were having a miscarriage, you would know. You would have excruciating pain in your lower abdomen as well as your back. Keep a close eye open on your temperature as well, and remember that tylenol as well as Ibuprofen are safe to take even during pregnancy ;-)

Well i guess my first question would be how old are you! Although if you are near Menopause time, you would probably be prepared. I read that loosing alot of weight could cause the issue. Changes in eating habits. Lots of things. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal. But you never know.
Good luck at the Doc!
(Some people here are saying go to the hospital. If you were having a miscarriage you would know it. Plus there isn't much an ER can do at this stage to save your baby. I have had 2 Misscarriages. Save your self a fat hospital bill and wait till your scheduled appt. Although I am not a doctor...sooo Best of Luck!!!!)

Relax hun. Stressing out can also cause your period to be wacky. If you've taken 2 home tests and they both came back negative it is quite likely that you are NOT pregnant. Since you have an irregular cycle its sometimes hard to tell what your bodies up to. Just relax and it will all get straightened out.

Theres a good chance you could be pregnant. Are you under unusual stress? Sometimes that really screws up a cycle. Just don't stress and be good to your body.

Go to the dollar store and buy another hpt. (Yes, the dollar stores all carry them, and yes, they work.) It's been long enough since your last one.

I don't know, honey... there are a lot of things it could be.

Try to hang in there till you see the doc.

Good luck...

either your stressing out,or maybe your not eating properly...If your on a new diet,or starving yourself or anything abnormal your body can react to it like that. I remember when i was 17 and that happened to me...then someone explained to me that was my bodies way of reacting to being unourished.
