unlocked sidekick 3?!?

hey there well i really want a sidekick 3 for christmas this year. but i have a razr v3 with cingular. but they are so cruddy and it really doesnt work anymore so i need a new phone. i heard that you wont use it for data or whatever but all i use my phone for is calling people and texting people. will it work for those things if i unlock it for cingular. and does anybody know anyone that is selling a sidekick three on ebay that is unlocked and will work with cingular? please i need the answer really soon. like ASAP

There are only two companies in the U.S. that use the Sidekick, T-Mobile the company I work for and Suncom. I don't know about Suncom but T-Mobile will not unlock a Sidekick for anyone and I don't think Suncom will either and T-Mobile and Suncom signed a contract with Danger the makers of the Sidekick to not sell them unlocked, so to find something like that is either impossible or very expensive. (I mean thousands) They probably do have some listings on ebay but they most likely are not legit, I just looked up one and it said it was compatible with Verizon (who does not even use sim cards in their phones). But if you do get one you are right you can't use the internet, the picture messages, or video messaging, etc. at all unless you have T-Mobile or Suncom. Now in theory yes it will work to make and receive calls. The text will only work if you call Cingular and get the Service Center Number, the company will know what you mean.
