How old should the younger person be for them not to be viewed as a child by the parents?

I don't think we should allow society to dictate age restrictions in relationships. There is a 21 year age gap between my boyfriend and I (I'm 27). I have never been happier in my life. Just like with any relationship, it needs to have the essentials like trust, understanding, communication, interests, goals, etc. If those elements are in place, then nothing else matters. Love is the greatest feeling in the world, and age shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing it.

Totally depends on where you live! It is a cultural thing. I am 51 and happily married to a 28 year old woman for four years. Not only do we have age as a difference, but she is Colombian from a poor family and I am American and own a major group of international companies. We have two children and live in Panama. I would love to return to the USA, to my small hometown in north Alabama, but I know that culturally she would not be accepted and it would cause us significant problems, and possible separate us as well. Like it or not, 99.9% of the people are conformist, even if it is the wrong idea that they conform to and that applies to everything in life.

There is no defined age because each family has a different opinion. Age difference stops being an issue when it's not considered an issue.
It's all in the eyes of the individual, not having any universal law.

Age is not an issue. My father was 30 when he married my mother who was 15 at that time. We're eleven children in the family but we lost 2 older brothers who died before reaching the age of 1, so that leaves us 9 children alive. And it was only death that separated them, my mother dies at the age of 49.
If you two were meant for each other, you will be together for as long as you live. if love is present, then it stays in the heart foreveer.

I would say 40 years for men and 30 years old for women.
