The Majority of the cities/towns in California

A few examples of such Californian towns...

Monterey
San Francisco- Saint Francis
San Diego- Saint James (not a whale's vagina :) )
Los Angelos- The Angels
Fresno- Ash tree
Santa Barbara
San Juan Bautista- Saint John the Baptist
Tres Pinos- Three Pines
Modesto- Modest
San Jose- Saint Joseph
Salinas
Santa Cruz- Saint Cross
El Centro- The Mall
Chulo Vista- Cute View
San Louis Obispo

and Chico -boy, just to name a few!

If you'd like more just look at the territory that used to belong to Mexico, which used to belong to Spain, and is thus influenced by Spanish names for many towns.

Hint: the Southwest California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas are a good place to start!
