I am a Cardinal fan and personally, I wish he kept it on cuz he pitched better after he washed his hands - but the fact is, he used more than a rosin bag and that is all the rules allow for - so, I ask, did he cheat or just grab someone's wood in the dugout?

does anyone read details - if the rosin is the only substance allowed, did he cheat????????????? I've never seen a brown rosin bag on the mound, and the one in this game wasn't brown. He pitched a good game, no doubt but as one answerer said, pine tar stays sticky
the umps suck and the Cardinals only lost because Tony La allowed Yadi to swing on 1-0

Yes. You could still see a smudge of brown even after he was asked to wash it off. Dirt does not leave a residue after being washed off, but pine tar does. Also, pine tar will leave your hands a little sticky for several hours, more than enough time to pitch eight innings. He should have been removed from the game in the 1st inning.

I doubt it considering after they asked him to wash off the alleged substance, the St Louis Cardinals couldn't hit him, just the the other 23rd consecutive innings in which no-one has been able to score a run off him during this post-season.
So any substance or question of cheating was only picked up during one innings of 23 innings and I dont think Mr Kenny Rogers needed it as he has show he can sing with the baseball and dance all over best hitters in the league.
So look at the facts and and substance was removed and didnt effect his performance. It St Louis who looks like they may need to cheat to get back in this Seires? I can see that from Australia mate

I cant say I hate Kenny yet I do despise the undeniable fact that he took away some thing that was organic entertainment....... a number of the individuals at right here could TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS, and as far by way of fact the question with reference to right here innings, the pine tar RESIDUE left on the backside of his cap continues to be There for the finished sport, all it takes is a easy touch with the top of his arms and he's sturdy to flow...

YES he did..what I am wondering is if he also cheated against the Yankees because his curve ball was really moving and thats what pine tar does is help you get better grip on the ball resulting in better spin on it.

No, Kenny Rogers of the Detroit Tigers did NOT cheat.
I am saying this because i am rooting for the Detroit Tigers in this years World Series, which is for the year of 2006.
Maybe if it were the Detroit Tigers and The New York Mets going for the World Series this year, then i'd have a different opinion.
Like I said one other time before, Let's Go Tigers, Baby.

Of course he didn't cheat. That's just an excuse of why the Cardinals do so badly. I mean he has his superstitions just like all of us. Kenny rogers is a great player and pitcher no matter what he does and no matter what everyone else says

yes.. i think its pretty clear he did considering he had the exact same "clump of dirt" on his hand in the same spot for the Yankee and A's series... and he also lied about the umpire asking him about it... why would he lie about something if hes innocent?
