In my opinion, Native Americans never really lost their land. The government weakened the tribes with restricting bias acts (allotment act, reorganization act, termination act) all of which forced them to assimilate to white culture, move around a lot or be killed. The removal act of 1830 forced so many tribes to move away from their reservations. That's just so horrible but the Native American tribes are still here as they should be.

I'm sure a lot of people think Native Americans lost their land when Columbus decided to pay a visit. The problem started when the land was called America. I'm sure the Native Americans were thinking, "Who are you, where did you come from and who cares what you want to call it!" This is their country. American Indians are still in their country. They never decided to move or change so it must be hard for them to even think of assimilating. I guess they are thinking; why should we change or not use our native language? We were here first.

That's like someone busting down your door and building a campfire on your living room floor in front of the TV. Then saying, "Oh by the way, we speak bleep bleep and you are going to have to learn that language because we don't know what you're saying. Oh and could you move over there; you're blocking the TV."

If I had to live with that mental thought every day, I'd be ticked off too. How can they lift themselves up when everything about their lives is being rearranged and reconstructed to bring them down? Native Americans belong in America. Everyone else is like a visitor.

All the Americans suffering from Xenophobia are always telling foreigners to get out of America. What if the Native Americans said, "Ok... All you non-Native Americans get the hell out!" That would be a whole lot of people packing bags... including me.

First off, "Indians" were NOT one nation.

Different Native Nations lost different amounts of land at different times and by different means.

With this question you have to be WAY more specific.

Secondly, different Native Nations still have land. They still have their own Nations. They are much smaller than they used to be however. This is why casino's can happen. For example, someone might say that there are casino's in Minnesota. No. There aren't. There are casino's in the Fond du Lac Nation. There are casino's in the Red Lake Nation, etc.

But to answer your question, the Native people have been losing the land ever since Columbus arrived and started attacking them!
