she was separated totally from other rats and her previous babies were around 3-4 weeks old. i looked today and she is having new borns. how is this possible?

It's not. She must have had contact with a male rat at some stage after the birth. She has been through the standard gestation period since the birth, so she obviously caught pregnant sometime shortly afterwards.

that is crazy. i used 2 have 4 rats but they were all girls

She's a rat. They breed like rats.

They are unfaithful little creatures and will inbreed. That is why they call them rats.
