Well, it is likely that once you have one you are more likely to have another premature birth. You are more prone after having cervical work done as well. However, your body may have healed some by your next pregnancy. I would just make sure that when you become pregnant again to take it easy and look for early signs of labor...now that you know what it feels like.

Did you doctor tell you that the premature birth was due to an incompetent cervix? If so, he/she may put in a cerclage next time...which closes the opening of the cervix with thread during your pregnancy so that it won't open prematurely.

Don't worry...there are things that can be done. Keep with your same doctor or let your next one know about your history so that they can assess and treat accordingly.

Did your doctor say that the prematurity might have been caused by the LEEP? Prematurity can be caused by dozens of things, so it may not have been the problem. But, subsequent pregnancies may also result in premature birth - keep your doctor informed, and hopefully, he will keep an eye on things.
