It's impossible to know what you would do in an instant, some people think of themselves as heros but under that pressure they would truley fall apart! Yet some say they wouldn't and they would in a second. The point is, unless you've actually lived that, you don't know if you would or not!

I was in a war. I killed people without ever seeing them first.
I've defended myself in fights - nobody died, but it could have happened - didn't stop me from going all out, however.

In a rage? I don't get rages, just cold anger. Killing has always been an option, but consequences must be considered - that's the advantage of cold anger - you think more clearly.

Not killing as it's against moral laws? I think it's often REQUIRED by moral law, such as if needed to stop a pedophile when there is no other option. And to stop a terrorist trying to take down your airplane as another example.

YES, I was called to duty and did so with out regret! honestly after the first 10 or so it got easy. Me or them. And I found myself to be a dead on shot. I once shot a guy right in the face as he was looking at me through his binoculars. I saw his face fill with fear in my scope. Then I blew his head off.

Sad thing is self defense, rage, war are just lame excuses.

I can say no, but we never know what we are capable of until we're faced with the situation. There are plenty of research out there to demonstrate that, such as the Zimbardo's prison study or the Milgram study.

I had been on the brink of doing this in Afghanistan, fortunately i did not have to. I would not have hesitated however if the threat level had increased. Until you are there faced with that decision you can never know. I know that if an adult hurt my children....it would be difficult not to kill so i pray that that issue will never happen.

Capable? Yes, Willing? No.

Maybe possibly in self defense, but it'd have to be absolutely necessary.

If someone were to threaten my children or grand children I sure could kill someone. Or to defend myself. But to kill for the sake of killing no I could not not even in rage. The bible says thou shalt not kill
