Lets be honest here... The only reason why Rooney gets dogged alot is because he has a very cocky mouth.. He's got trumendous talents, if he keeps his mouth shut.. I think once he gets older, wiser and more time under his belt, he'll mature and become a talented player... As for overrated.. my vote goes with Beckham.. Though,I do give him much credit, he knows how to market himself.. Thats what it takes in this game now-a-days... Marketing yourself.. Not many people truely care about the sport or talent of players.. Look, Extra TV (here in the states) did a special on one of their shows that was "The hottest guys of the World Cup"..

had a lot of weight on his shoulders, all because of that goal against the gunners.then the big transfer fee,so every time he plays he is expected to score a hat full of goals.but remember he is only just turning 21,so yes he is overrated but not the most overrated player in the UK,look at tevez at west ham utd

Definitely over rated.Just like how the British press made it seem as though England were hot favourites to win the last World Cup.

I think he's not over-rated. The fact that he is a highly-rated youngster is valid, and he has proved that with some fantastic performances so far. His best years are most likely ahead of him yet.

No not at all its early in the season, remember hes still young and has a ridiculous amount of pressure placed on his shoulders, he will come good he works hard and it will soon pay off.

He's pretty good. But the most overrated is Beckham. He gets paid so much and gets so much publicity, I'm just not impressed by what he does.
