Last night at a sleep over I brought my Ouiji board over to my friends house and we played with it for a little while. We were kinda goofing around before, but then we got bored of it and started watching Gothika (It was raining out which made it more awesome) And halfway through the movie my fingers started to ache and tingle and I had the huge urge to play with the board again so I did, and the pointer kept on doing weird things like going off the board and making figure eights, I couldn't tell if these where bad omens or not, and the next day all of the candles we had used as a more eerie effect for the board had been knocked over, and there was a black smudge on the ceiling right above the board, the cat through up right outside the door, and several things where missing from the room, whats this mean? I'm an ameuter witch and dont really know to much about magick, is it important to go to the "goodbye" stamp when ur done?

You need to cleanse the house immediatly and find some way to get rid of it. Simply throwing it out wont work. there are rituals in which the board can be burned and the demons cast out. Yes the board can be used for demons. they find entering our world through a board fairly easy due to the fact that it is mostly used by those who do not understand it and can not controll it. go to
www.witchvox.com
ask them for a ritual or if they know someone in your area who can preform it. it's the safest thing
also make sure you purify the cat and the out side if the cat goes out side. if u dont they could get back in.

Most everyone's response has been "don't mess with the Ouiji board" and it's quite true. Leave it alone! You must realize there is good and evil, angels and demons, and though you can't see them they are there.
I've heard stories of a boy who was quite mixed up with the spirit world, and even had a spirit guide who turned out to be a demon. Where I am going with this is that one night when the boy was battling on the astral plane him and a friend of his (who wasn't participating) in the room were thrown into a wall injuring themselves, and a backslidden christian was also in the room clinging to his bible, and he was unaffected.

I'm a christian now, but before I was I looked into some things that I definately should have left alone. In the end you find that God is truth and loves you, and in him you find all things come to perfection and how they were meant to be.
So PLEASE take my advice, get rid of that board, and say prayer, read the bible, or go to church, because you've invited something evil in, and only God's love and mercy will rid you of it.

By the way as a side note if you've seen the exorcist, that is based on a true story involving a boy. The book and movie were so close to what actually happened that the Catholic church quietly sued over it because what exorcists undertake are meant to be kept confidental. (And there is one exorcist assigned to every diocease of the catholic church.)

Here are a few rules when using the board.
1-Do not be under the influence of alcohol, or drugs. This means everyone who is present when the board is "live".
2-Open the board with simple yes/no questions.
3-Be mind-full that you do not know who you are talking to, so be respectful.
4-Never, ever ask the spirit to "prove they are there". Your house could end up with the scent of rotten meat. This is no BS!!!!
5-If you ever feel threatened in any way, say goodbye on the board, out loud, and close the board immediately!
6-The board is a channeling device, and when using it, should you fail to follow these basic guidelines, you are directly inviting entities into your home....or worse.

Some people think that Ouiji Boards are just for fun and games. They aren't!! Using one is allowing spirits to enter your home/wherever you use it. That can be very dangerous. That's also a problem if you don't close the board properly. Be careful! You don't know who you may be dealing with.

Oh no. This is why most witches tell you "don't play with the Ouija". It's not a toy. You opened the door to the otherworld and something came through. Then you didn't close it after. You need to close that door so nothing else follows the first through. As for the spirit in your house right now, try a banishing spell.

And don't play with Ouija again.

A ouiji board is a very sacred and spiritual item. As you probably know, it can be used to talk to spirits and misusing this tool will upset them. A ouiji board is a doorway to the spirit world and may let spirits out. You might have just haunted your friend's house, and if anything strange happens, you might consider hiring a exsorcist

Take the advice of most of the folks who have answered. This is not a game. This is just another way Satan communicates. Burn it today and pray for others to stay away from it. Satan is a liar.

it is VERY important to scroll the piece of the "goodbye" stamp when you're done with your board. it's said that if you don't you leave the doorway open for spirits to enter and leave your the two worlds.
