The short answer is that you can't force him to give you his answer.

He does seem to want a relationship with you, but I think the relationship you're after is something that he might not be mature enough to consider right now.

Know that young people are also sometimes emotionally unstable in that they haven't found out their own limits, tastes and interests. These things can't be forced. They have to emerge in their own time.

Give both him and yourself room to grow. Don't try to do it too fast.

Please becareful. You're treading on dangerous waters. You're out, he's not. He's not ready so don't try anything until he's sure of himself what he's about. If you press the issue too much, he'll explode and hurt you in the worst way. You don't want that kind of drama to happen. It's only highschool. People grow with age.

You never know, he's straight acting right now, but years down the line he might be marching by you in a Gay Pride parade.

Good luck but stand back (for now).

i would say invite him to a gay event, like if you have a "gay day" at your local amusement park or if they have an under 21 night at a local gay bar or gay club. make sure you ask him out in complete privacy though, if he's as jock-ish as you say, he probably has a lot of REALLY straight friends and doesnt want them to know, perticulay if he is involved in contact sports, or showers after practice. remember, its just as hard a part of his life as it is/was for you, if not worse. Good luck though! And congrats for scorin' a jock!

Watch what he does towards other guys, if it's normal stuff. Then he's bisexual, I should know I get hit on by guys all the time. Smile, and if he smiles back he likes you. Stare at you moderately with compassion he likes you.
