I don't have an Ipod Yet I'm actally saving up for one. After I read a lot about them when I had an old ipod like those first ones and when I put music on them I didn't always use Itunes. You can get them off Itunes obiously and I alway got my music from windows media player or like the music I had saved on my computer by going to my computer and go to removal disc. I also had noticed that when you have the newer verison of Windows it will work bettter..

Thats all I can really Say

windows media have less songs though but, well. you still have to download iTunes, but you don't have to get your music there, becasue u have to pay 99 cents per song [ which actually sux] . but since i didnt want that, i downloaded limewire, since its the largest file sharing program on the planet, and also DO NOT DOWNLOAD BEAR SHARE[it has virus trust me i had it once]. download limewire, ok pick as much songs that your ipod holds, and and you need to do is go to ur library on top wher eit says library, comouter, and search. once youve done all the music and stuff. go to ur library and there is something on the bottom it says mp3. thers a place for ur music list, so highlight all of ur somgs , and it says on the bottom enquene or something like that and all u see is ur playlost now, go to ur iTunes, and click on music and there is alist there[ it should b empty] now highlight the list frum ur mp3 playlist in limewire and drag it to the music list in ur iTunes. then u cna start to download all of it to ur ipod. i hope u understood this nd hoep i helped =] this is the site : www.limewire.com

I know I am a little off topic, but what do you think of electronic music nowdays?
I think Mp3s are the most popular music format out there..

I just found this site related to downloading MP3s right off the internet:

No you don't have to use itunes only. just convert your old files into files that your ipod can recognize and then you can use it on your ipod
