I was recomended by a friend to ALWAYS download music from the net at 320 bit rate (CD quality) because it was the best (and most expensive).

Can your ear, on a normal stereo system, percieve the difference or does it really make a difference?

There are differences, but much of it depends on the headphones/speakers or player you're using, i.e. ipod, psp, etc.

For sure man. It's easy to spot quality simply by the clarity of a song. And even if it is 100% clear, you can still tell by the levels of the CD, MP3, etc. There's a certain standard these days, and it's very easy to tell if a CD's been burned more than once simply by the level one has to play it at.

personally i think it makes a huge difference, just from experiance. i burned a cd and some of the songs were different quality and i could hear it on the cd.

I know I am a little off topic, but what do you think of electronic music nowdays?
I think Mp3s are the most popular music format out there..

I just found this site related to downloading MP3s right off the internet:
