Is the season really dead & buried, or is there still hope for a miracle final 9 game stretch where they go 8-1 or 7-2?

For my $$$, there is no hope for a miracle unless there is a QB change, and even then its a super longshot at best.

Unfortunately their season is already over. Their Schedule has been tough, and will remain tough the rest of the way. 8 of their last 9 games are against opponents with a winning record, and that one losing team is Tampa Bay who is on a 2 game win streak against Cincinnati and Philadelphia. Also, an 0-2 hole in the NFC east is almost impossible to overcome.

They definately need to look to the future with their QB situation, but Brunell has not been the problem. The Redskins problem has been their inability to get the rushing game going. They have produced two 100 yard rushers this season (2-0), and in their five losses their highest rusher had 76 yards. At one time yesterday Portis had 7 carries for 1 yard. In the NFL, even if you have Peyton Manning, that lack of rushing will not allow you to be a winning team.

Without having a consistent rushing game, this means the Redskins aren't getting first downs. Without first downs, that keeps the time of possession low. I believe the Redskins defense has been playing well, but they are getting tired late in the games. They gave up 23 2nd half points to the Colts yesterday.

I don't know why everyone is blaming Brunell. Granted he is old and not an elite QB, but he isn't the problem. The running game hasn't been consistant, and when the offense does put up the points, the defense blows it. If you want to pass blame, I'd be more worries about their highly ranked defense which hasn't done anything. Switching QB's during the middle of the season would certainly end their season.

the Washington Redskin's season is really probably over because of their 4 losses. Their quaterback is getting a lot of sacks during games and interceptions. they were doing good in 2005 and 2004 but their luck must have run out. Sorry to tell you that.

it's looking pretty over... I'm a die hard skins fan, but its not looking good... I agree QB change is key.. Play Jason Campbell... Offense is on point except the QB... you never know.. .look at last year 5-5 and won 5 in a row for playoffs...
